The Hedgehog That Started It All

Tri, the rare tri-colored Hedgehog

Tri, a tri colored Top Quality Hedgehog, produced by us.

He is the only currently existing tri I know of.  We currently are in the process of creating more tri colors through him and are successful.

Drew was the first of Top Quality Hedgehogs, he started out as a pet and then ended as a loving dad to many generations.  His wonderful, sweet and outstanding personality was irreplaceable, he was a true blessing from God.  He had the most beautiful ruby eyes and he was the most handsome albino I've ever seen.  He didn't act like a hedgehog, he was our baby.

One day we noticed he had a small mass in his mouth which turned out to be cancer.   Our skilled vet removed as much of the mass as he could, but it just grew too big to help.  We watched his quality of life, and on  April 7th, 2015, we decided it was time to say goodbye and not let him suffer any further.  Before taking him to get euthanized, we took pictures of him with his daughter "Buttercup" and other hedgies before saying our final goodbye.

This picture is of him just hours before he was euthanized "waving" goodbye, and welcoming all the new generations of his lineage to come.

We love you, Drew.    5/30/11-4/7/15.

You will be missed, Chloe

Chloe was a beloved pet, she was always making people laugh, smile and of course, melt hearts.  She was the star of our hedgehog herd, and mostly, she was our baby.
Chloe had a true love for her sister, Caroline, they always cuddled together and of course had our hearts, they were twin look-alikes.
Chloe has a round body, a bear-like face, a heart of love and that ever-so-beautiful color, a Black Eyed White. She was a perfect little girl, and everything about her was precious.

Chloe had her first litter of 7 chunky babies, although 1 was stillborn, the rest were healthy and perfect.  Chloe loved her babies, and nursed them just fine.
On her second litter, she had 5 babies, 2, sadly, didn't make it.  She nursed them and loved each one of them like she always does.  We noticed Chloe wasn't looking good, after noticing that she wasn't healthy enough to nurse her babies, we gave her babies to a good foster mom.

We took Chloe to the vets, after being given instructions on what to do, feeding her multiple times a day with Critical Care wet food and giving her lots of close attention, she took a turn for the worst.  On the night of January 11th, 2015, I noticed she just had a look about her that told me it was it for her.  I made sure she was warm and I got her all comfortable, she slowly and peacefully died in our hands, and I was heart broken to experience it.
Even though she died at such young age, she died peacefully in our hands, and I am so happy that I got to say my last goodbye before she passed.

We made a funeral for her and said our last goodbyes.

Rest In Peace Chloe Cotton, We Will Miss You    5/17/13 - 1/11/15
